How do you recharge your batteries?

Dear reader,

Are you familiar with this scenario (think “pre Covid times” for this one, ok 😉 )?

“I’m exhausted! I need a holiday!!”

And then you come back home, only to be exhausted and in need of a new holiday within days after unpacking your suitcase!

Because we can’t really travel that much right now, and because we can’t go for an unlimited number of holidays per year, we need to find more sustainable solutions for everyday “battery charging”.

So how can we go about giving ourselves the chance to re-charge without having to head off for a retreat, mini-weekend, or beauty treatment (which are ALL LOVELY by the way, but just not possible for most of us on a daily basis…)?

What about a nice cup of tea, sitting in your favourite chair and just starring into space for 5-10 minutes?

Or a nice walk in the neighbourhood, maybe even together with a friend, regardless of weather?

Maybe a 10 minute stretch- or yoga routine (there are TONS on YouTube), without having to change into “training gear”?

Or just mindfully washing your hands (we are all doing in diligently these days anyway… 😀 ) with a nice smelling soap?

When we take the time for a little re-charging pause here and there in our busy days, our brains and bodies benefit immensely, and you become even more creative and productive!

One of my top favourite re-charging activities right now is to water my plants, both the indoor ones and the urban garden on our balcony; maybe harvesting a few spinach leaves and eat them right there on the spot; or preparing myself a nice cup of tea with freshly harvested herbs like peppermint or thyme that live on my windowsill.

A fun exercise I sometimes give my clients is to write a few suggestions on a nice piece of paper that you hang somewhere where you can see it; or write the same ideas on popsicle sticks and keep them in a nice glass or vase on the table, and just pull one randomly when it’s time for a little break.

Now over to you; what kind of little re-charging pauses could you create for yourself in your everyday life?

Enjoy the lovely spring time, and see you all soon again!

Warm regards,
Karin
